Glen Carbon V.F.W. Post 2222 Community Events

V.F.W. Post 2222 members helps the community in many ways:

Adopt-a-Highway Program	Participates three time annually in the Village of Glen Carbon Adopt-A-Highway Program to remove litter and trash from roadways beginning at State Route 157, south along North Meridian Road to Iron Mountain Road.
Little League Team Sponsor	Sponsor team in the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Little League Association’s annual baseball program.
Pre-Memorial Day Event	Participate in Annual Pre-Memorial Day Ceremony at Oaklawn Cemetery and Buck Road Cemetery.
Memorial Day Service	Participate in Annual Memorial Day Service at the Glen Carbon Veterans Monument and Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville.
March to Honor Roll	Participate in the Annual March to Honor Roll Park/Glen Carbon Veterans Monument. Service conducted prior to Veterans Day Program.
Veterans Day Parade	Participate in the Annual Veterans Day Parade held in Edwardsville, IL on Veterans Day.
October-Feast	Participate in the Annual October Feast conducted in Edwardsville, at LeClaire Park. This activity is when we serve our famous “CURLY FRIES” potatoes which are enjoyed by all that partake.
Glen Carbon Homecoming	Participate in the annual Glen Carbon Homecoming “Meet Me on Main Street” by providing members of Honor Guard that march in the Homecoming Parade.
Poppy Sales Drive	Conduct annual Poppy Sales in May. Proceeds go to the Veterans of Foreign Wars for Veterans Assistance programs.
Valentine’s Day Cards for Vets	Participate in the annual Valentine’s Day Cards for Veterans. Receive Valentine Day card from local grade schools, then deliver to hospitalized veterans in veteran’s hospitals.
National Home	Contribute to needy children at the National Home for Children in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
