Honor Flight

Do you know a World War II veteran or a veteran of any war with a terminal illness?
Honor Flights Networks wants to help them to see their Memorial for their service.

Honor Flight was started to allow World War II veterans visit the recently completed World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Earl Morse, a physician assistant and Retired Air Force Captain, conceived the idea while working at a clinic for the Veterans Affairs Department in Ohio. He wanted to honor those whom he had provided care for.

Honor Flights mission is to allow all veterans to see their memorial. 2008 statistics estimate that approximately 1,000 World War II veterans a day are lost. The current focus will remain on World War II veterans and those veterans from any war who have a terminal illness. The goal is to pay tribute to all World War II veterans followed by Korean War, Vietnam War, and veterans of more current wars.

Honor Flights provides trips free of charge to veterans to see their memorial in Washington, D.C. Every veteran who meets the criteria will fly for free. Honor Flight Network gratefully accepts donations from anyone EXCEPT World War II veterans; they will not accept any donations from them.
