Glen Carbon American Legion Post 435 Community Events

American Legion Post 435 members helps the community in many ways:

Adopt-A-Highway Program	Participates 3 times annually in the Village of Glen Carbon Adopt-a-Highway Program to remove litter and trash from roadways beginning at Main St. and South Meridian Road to North Meridian Road to Iron Mountain Lake Drive
American Legion Little League Team Sponsor	Sponsor the American Legion Little League team in the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Little League Association's annual baseball program
Pre-Memorial Day Event	Participate in Annual Pre-Memorial Day Ceremony at Oaklawn Cemetery and Buck Road Cemetery
Memorial Day Service	Participate in Annual Memorial Day Service at the Glen Carbon Veterans Monument and Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL; place flags, with assistance from Boy Scout Troop 1034, on graves of veterans at Glen Carbon Village Cemetery
March to Honor Roll	Participate in the Annual March to Honor Roll Park/Glen Carbon Veterans Monument. Service conducted prior to Veterans Day Program.
Veterans Day Parade	Participate in Annual Veterans Day Parade held in Edwardsville, IL on Veterans Day. Place flags, with assistance from Boy Scout Troop 1034, on graves of veterans at Glen Carbon Village Cemetery
Color Guard	Provide Color Guard at funerals of deceased American Legion members and assist with flag folding, 21-gun salute, and taps
